Pet Quarantine FAQ's

Will I be allowed to visit my pet?

Yes, we encourage regular visiting. We also understand that it may be difficult for some people to arrange transport when they have recently arrived in this country or live in London. We therefore provide a minibus courtesy service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from Terminal 4 passenger terminal, (last stop Piccadilly line underground station). Details may be found on the quarantine page.

Will my family be able to touch our pet and play with him?

Yes. You will be able to spend time with your pet, inside the kennel or in the run.

I am worried that my pet will not be able to recognise us when he is released.

In our long experience of dealing with quarantined animals we find that this is not so. However they may become very attached to their own personal kennel maid!

What happens if my pet falls ill whilst in quarantine?

Our vet visits daily and refers to a diary where kennel maids record any problems they think need investigating. It is an excellent large veterinary practice, with a team of experts on hand should the need arise. On the rare occasion when a problem is serious, we gain permission from the Ministry of Agriculture and transfer animals to the veterinary surgery, just 10 minutes away. Our kennel maids are well trained to notice signs and symptoms of sick animals - some of our staff have been with us for over 10 years. You would be informed of any problem that may give cause for concern and be able to speak to the vet directly. All animals are inspected by our vet upon arrival in the kennels.

Are the vets fees expensive?

Apart from the veterinary examination upon arrival, the rabies vaccination (and in the case of cats, feline enteritis / cat flu vaccinations), which are included in our basic pricing structure - all non pre-existing conditions are covered by our insurance for up to £600.

What type of diet will my cat / dog be on?

We take pride in the type of food we offer all our cats and dogs. Top quality brands are always available in both complete and canned products. We also monitor the weight of each animal after weighing on arrival. Many owners are delighted to find a fit and healthy pet after the 6 month quarantine, along with a perfect waistline! Special veterinary diets are also catered for at an additional charge.

Will my pet be groomed whilst in quarantine?

Yes. The kennel maids are responsible for the bathing and grooming of cats and dogs. We also offer a clipping and trimming service at our own 'in house' grooming parlour at an extra cost.
